Civil Defense is a defensive system built and manned by the citizens. It was designed for the purposes of defending communities, cities/counties, and if necessary, the states against any and all forms of oppression. Both foreign and domestic.
It was designed to be a fallback defensive system in the event of an invasion. Like a militia, except these minutemen would work together to defend their communities and cities first. Allowing the federal and state military to fight the enemy abroad.
Civil Defense was originally based off of the militias from colonial times. The idea was taught by our federal government. So why is it that the average American has never heard of it?

It wasn’t until the country was plagued with war, that the other 75% saw the true face of the British government.
Our founding fathers knew that the only way to successfully fight the British government was to work as a team. One country united for freedom.
Sadly, not everyone during that time was for freedom. Only about 25% of the colonials were on board with the idea. It wasn’t until the country was plagued with war, that the other 75% saw the true face of the British government. Only then did they realize it was an all or nothing kind of deal.
By the end of the war, the people were so scarred by a tyrannical government, that it took 15 years for the constitution and the federal government to be officially formed and in full control. Even then they immediately formed the Bill of Rights before everything else.
They listed the bills in the order of their importance. 1st - Freedom of religion, speech, press, and peaceful protest; religion was the first mentioned in the bill. This signaled its level of importance to the founding father.
Was the militia seen as more important than individual rights to our founding fathers?
2nd - The right to “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
Seeing that the right to form a militia was put first before the individuals rights to keep and bear arms raises the question. Was the militia seen as more important than individual rights to our founding fathers?
Hiding the Truth
So why is it that Civil Defense is no longer being taught?
Civil Defense was commonly taught up till the late 1950’s. It was so common that certain parts of it were taught in schools. Anyone remember hiding under the desk during “Air Raid Drills”?
The federal government had just finished fighting WWII and was now fighting in Korea. They were all too familiar with the fact that we, America, are not above being attacked. (Think on how Pearl Harbor drug us into WWII. And later, how 9/11 took us into the war against terror.)
So why is it that Civil Defense is no longer being taught? For the same reason that the word militia has been given a bad name. It's also for the same reason that the media and politicians want you focusing on the last part of the 2nd amendment and not the first.
It’s hard to form a well regulated militia without guns. It’s also easier to take out a group of people 1 at a time than it is all at once.
Evolution of Civil Defense
Consider this - the US military's guidelines for “engagement with the enemy” is to ensure that there is a 3 to 1 ratio. Basically, they want you to have 3 guys to every 1 enemy. Knowing this is why the federal government created Civil Defense.
It has changed over the years from working as a state militia to working as a community. Mostly because of the growth in population and the change in roles of the National Guard.
It was believed that as long as we worked as a team, aka: a militia, that no one threat or government could overtake us, the Free State. This is why they stated the right to a well regulated militia first. They even went a step further by spelling it out, “being necessary to the security of a free state”.
Exposing the Danger
Keeping in mind that “We the People” hold the power in this country, and that through voting, our politicians work and hold power only by our leave. Is it any wonder why Civil Defense has been erased?
More than that, now we’re seeing individual attacks on our 2nd amendment freedoms under these Red Flag Laws. It’s like they’re saying, “Shut up and sit down, we’re in charge not you! And if you’ve got a problem with it…then your next!”
The Simple Answer
So how do we stop this without it leading to another Revolutionary War? How can we stop the future bloodshed? By working together as a team and community (i.e. a Civil Defense group.) Only by working together as a community can we show that united we stand. Together we will either live free or die.
We must enact the first part of our 2nd amendment rights. We must learn to push our petty differences aside and work as a team to protect everyone in our community. We must reach back and learn those Civil Defense tactics.
So how do we stop this without it leading to another Revolutionary War?
Imagine if the next time an unconstitutional law was being enforced that the enforcers where met with the entire community, heavily armed and positioned with a strategic tactical advantage.
The Bundy ranch incident in Nevada has shown us that not only can it be done, but just how it should look.
How?
Hopefully by this point you’re seeing the same issues with things like the Red Flag law as I am. It’s oppression, pure and simple. This is the very thing that our founding fathers warned us about, and set protective systems in place of. By ensuring that “We the People” have the power, we can drive out these crooked politicians with elections, education, and peaceful protests.
In the meantime, we must train and build our communities to work together both now and in the future. We must show that we will not blindly comply with unconstitutional acts. Nor will we allow any of our fellow neighbors to be harmed.
If we could get this to spread throughout our country, we could prevent another Revolutionary War and save lives on a mass scale.
We must stand together, and Civil Defense is the vehicle we can use to do that with. By learning, training, teaching, and implementing the authentic military tactics found in our Civil Defense program; we can and will save lives and stop this power grabbing unconstitutional oppression from getting out of control.
