Antifa
Antifa is now encouraging any anti-gun advocate to take the law into their own hands and disarm anyone that they see. Their goal is to target open carrying citizens by sneaking up behind them and stealing their weapon.
Anyone who is not paying attention to what is going on around them or not using proper situational awareness can find themselves subject to this type of robbery. If anyone is successful in stealing your weapon, they are encouraged to throw it into the nearest dumpster.
Stealing Your Gun
This is dangerous not only because you cannot predict whether or not your attacker is going to throw it into the dumpster if they don’t just shoot you with it first. Second, by putting it in the dumpster, it is giving thugs and bums off of the streets a chance to access your weapon.
Situational Awareness
By paying attention to what is going on around you, no one should be able to get close enough to you that they can steal your weapon like that. It is important the keep the 30′ rule in mind. That is to say that anyone within 30 feet of you has the ability to get to you before you can react or get to your weapon. So don’t let anyone within 30′ of you if you suspect they are a danger. You can prevent them from getting too close by using the warning draw.
The Warning Draw
If you suspect that someone is coming up on you to steal your gun or cause you ill intent, you can prevent their advance by simply drawing your weapon. *Note* It is important to keep it pointed at the ground and not at anyone else.
By simply holding your weapon in your hands, you are better able to stop someone from stealing your gun or react fast enough in case they are planning to attack you. It also works as an amazing deterrent. Most individuals will back off and leave you alone once they see that you are alert and prepared to defend yourself.
Stopping the attack before it can happen can prevent more mishaps or deaths than any other method.
Caught Unaware
