The AR15 is a good home defense weapon. You can use it interchangeably with the military and law enforcement M16. This means that should you run out of ammunition or need parts that they are easy to find.
So why are so many pushing so hard to have it banned? The real answer is scary.
The AR15
You can fortify your home all day long, but all of that hard work will count for absolutely nothing unless you have the proper weaponry to back you up.
Having a common weapon is a key step to being able to keep going when something malfunctions or you need more ammo. However, that is not the only reason why the AR15 is a good weapon to have.
Common Ground
There are important key benefits that the AR15 and others like it offer in aiding against unlawful home invasions. They can put the average citizen with the right training on equal ground with the pros. Without them, our ability to defend ourselves against threats from all threats is greatly diminished.
