Have you ever heard of a man named Anders Lassen? Let me teach you about him and tell you how that applies to Home Defense Wartime Tactics.

Anders Lassen
Anders Lassen was one of many guys that the British used to stand up MI5. Now it is important to understand that MI5 was an enforcement and/or action unit for MI6 (intelligence gathering.)
WWII & MI5
During WWII, there was an airfield that the Germans were using to launch bombers out of. As a result, it was absolutely devastating England night and day since it was in striking range of their island.
Because of this, the British recruited Anders Lassen and MI5 to go out there and destroy the airfield using only a few men.
In the summer 1943, Anders Lassen participated in the Operation Albumen at Crete. The purpose of this operation was to attack three German airfields and create as much damage as possible. Anders Lassen’s task was to attack the airfield at Kastelli. On his team, he had three companions, and they managed to make a huge attack to make the Germans think, that they were more than just four men. The four men destroyed eight aircrafts, of which four of them were Ju-87 Stukas. Furthermore, they ignited large fuel bearings on the airfield.

How was that possible?
The German Airfield
To demonstrate how amazing of a feat that it was for Anders Lassen and MI5 to destroy the German airfield, let me explain to you the extent of their security.
There was a perimeter fence that went all around the airfield. The Germans also had roaming guards and security dogs that patrolled the area regularly. Not to mention fighting positions, tons of weaponry, the works.
Recon Sheep Herders
Anders Lassen and his buddy decided to conduct a team leader recon. So they borrowed a few sheep from a local herder and dressed like shepherds.
Following this, they walked right up to the German airfield gate pretending to gather up "rogue" sheep. In fact, they were actually success in chasing their sheep right into the German airfield.
Obviously the Germans weren't happy about this, but they did not expect any nefarious intent (it helped a lot that Anders Lassen spoke fluent German and was able to fully pull of the local look.) They simply told the "shepherds" to get out and even helped them round up their sheep.
During this time, Anders Lassen and his buddy used the opportunity to scope out the place and identify rotation patterns, the layout and much more.
Effecting the Attack
A couple of days afterwards, Anders Lassen and MI5 effected the attack. Using only a handful of men, they slipped onto the airfield, snuck passed the guards/dogs and started placing explosive charges everywhere.
Furthermore, when everything started cooking off, Anders Lassen was brazen enough to pose as a German Officer and direct the German soldiers to attack each other while making them think that they were shooting at the enemy. (The Germans didn't realize that it was actually only a few men that had effected the attack.)
Home Defense Wartime Relation
The moral of the story here, is where there is a will, there is a way.
Another important lesson here is to watch out for those posing as a local to recon your home/headquarters.
This means that you need to make a point to know as many people in your area as you can (network) and be able to identify if someone actually belongs or if they are posers.
