When you're setting up your defensive positions, don't forget about snipers. They can be a huge morale disrupter so do this to turn the tides.

Fighting Positions & Snipers

A sniper that actually knows what they are doing (this means that they can make precision shots from a concealed location) is one of the most LETHAL soldiers on the battlefield.

The reason? A professional sniper is almost impossible to find. Not to mention that he doesn't miss.

This means that a sniper could very easily take out all of your guards before you could do anything about it.

Press Play

Morale Disrupters by Sniper

Snipers are not just a key element when it comes to a full out attack. They can also serve as morale disruption with the use of psychological warfare. Although this is mainly done against a larger force, it can verily easily be applied to home defense tactics.

When a sniper kills one person a day, or regularly shoots guards, it makes it very hard to recruit and get individuals to willingly take over those positions. It also makes your soldiers question whether or not they are on the winning side.

There are tons of mind games a sniper can play with their enemy.

How to Stop a Sniper

The best way to deal with a sniper is to make yourself a harder target. You can do that with your fortified positions by adding mosquito netting and even some type of roof over them.

To expound, this is useful because it makes it harder for the sniper to see in while still allowing you to see out.

If You Are Alone

If you are the only guard, you can place mannequins behind the mosquito netting of your fighting positions. If they are crouched down to where only the tip of their head is visible with the barrel of a rifle sticking through the sandbags, it makes it difficult for your enemy to tell when you are there and when you are not.

Not to mention it is harder for the sniper to tell how many people are actually there guarding your location.

Lesson # 1

The biggest take-away that I want you to get out of this article, is to constantly troubleshoot and improve your fortifications and defensive plan.

This means that you need to think like the enemy and ask yourself, "If I was going to attack my home, how would I do it?"
