Its time for a reminder on what it really means to be an American. "Let us therefore animate and encourage each other, and shew the whole world, that a Freeman contending for Liberty on his own ground is superior to any slavish mercenary on earth.” ― George Washington
The Revolutionary War
During the Revolutionary War, our founding fathers marched soldiers barefoot through the snow just to get to Trenton. As a result, they left behind a trail of blood.
There they faced a Hessian army that was more numerous. Not to mention much better trained and equipped than them.
"Our founding fathers marched barefoot in the snow just to get to Trenton."
They had pledged their lives, their liberties, their fortunes and their honor for an opportunity to bring about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
They were victorious that day. Just as they were victorious in winning Independence for this country.
They did this, because that is what Americans do.
WWI & WWII
In WWI & WWII we watched as our grandfathers fought against a genocidal, radical world dominating organization known as the Axis Powers.
American men like Audie Murphy stood on top of a flaming tank and held back the enemy with suppressive gunfire. This was so that his men could flee to safety.
We watched as rangers (and it has cost over half of their men) stormed the cliffs and took out a gun position that was threatening the ships who were bringing in allied soldiers to storm the beaches of Normandy.
We watched as our grandfathers stormed beaches Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Normandy and countless other islands.
We heard the horror stories of marines who had found their comrades skinned alive in caves. Only to be identified by their dog tags. Our grandfathers took the horror of that war to their grave.
Because that is what Americans do.
Korea & Vietnam
We watched in Korea and Vietnam as our fathers fought against an oppressive, communist regime.
They tried desperately to bring relief to the innocent that were caught in the cross fire.
We watched as their country forsook them because of a liberal, propaganda media and a cowardly administration.
We watched as several were left to die at POW camps in Vietnam. But these men fought that war because they believed in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all.
They did this because they are Americans. And that is what Americans do.
Hurricanes in America
We watched during the hurricanes Katrina, Fran, Sandy and Michael. Neighbors helped neighbors.
Food trucks, utility experts, medical personnel and the everyday citizens traveled across state lines to come together. They did this for the purpose of conducting search and rescues, and relief operations.
The Towers of 9/11
We watched on Sept 11, 2001 when the twin towers fell. A country put their differences aside and came together.
As a result, we conducted the largest search and rescue operation that this country has ever seen.
We cried together, we rebuilt together and we went to war together. And we were victorious. We brought liberty and freedom to two different countries.
We watched as these same men came home and built organizations like "Operation Underground Railroad." Charities that were designed specifically to bring freedom and abolish slavery around the world.
We watched as the organizations were funded with American dollars by American donors.
We have seen the fight against slavery and for liberty carried out globally because that is what Americans do.
Hard Times Are Here
We are facing hard times with COVID19, economical damage, mass shortages and tyrannical governments.
Our hardships have only begun. But we will not hide. We will fight for our lives, our liberty and our pursuit of happiness.
I'll leave you with these verses.
We can't hide! We MUST face whatever comes our way. Just as our fathers, grandfathers and founding fathers have done. We must rise ourselves up! We must go to work and bring back our economy. We must go to church and worship the way that we see fit!
We must prepare ourselves for the worst, and pray to God to deliver us the best! We must remember that the difference between cowardliness and courage is facing that which we know to be dangerous. And standing up and doing what is right in the face of adversity!
We must do this, and we will do this! Because we are Americans and that is what Americans do.
