Causing Havoc: The Dynamics of the Modern-day Battlefield

Causing havoc is an undertaught tactic that you can use in a modern-day evasion scenario when you're in the city and the enemy is after you.

Hello, my name is Kit Arthur. I am the CEO and founder of Tackleberry Solutions. We teach wartime tactics to citizens for civil and home defense purposes. Today I'm going to talk about the Evasion portion of S.E.R.E. (Survive. Escape. Resist. Evade.)

In this article, I'm going to teach a nifty little trick that you can use for an evasion tactic. This is especially applicable if you ever find yourself in a situation in the city where the bad guy is after you and you've got to make a quick escape.

The Modern-Day Battlefield

First I want to establish, if you haven't already, now is the time to get out of the big cities. They are going to be the very first target no matter what the attack method is. That is to include even biological and invasionary attacks.

This article was written for those of you that are in the city and have not been able to get out before havoc reigns. As a result, you've had to defend your home with deadly force. You've successfully repelled the assault and now you've got the enemy actively looking for you.

The Enemy's Assets

For this scenario, let's say that you've thoroughly upset the enemy and they decide that they want you real BAD. As a result, they've deployed every asset that they've got to find and capture you. This includes:

  • Professional Track Dogs
  • Professional Trackers
  • Drones
  • Multiple Search Teams all over the City

Causing Havoc to Escape

At this point, it would not be wise to try and high-tail it directly out of the city. They're going to expect you to do that and the last thing that you want to be right now is predicable. You need to draw the enemy to one location as they attempt to handle massive havoc.

Because of this, the first thing that you are going to do is go straight into Walmart or some other local store that will have what you need. Why?

Let me explain a hard truth to you right now. At this point, you're already the "bad guy." So toss the book out the window and start breaking the rules or you aren't going to make it.

Warning: The following information is for emergency situations ONLY. Also, we do NOT teach legal advice. We teach wartime tactics, which is ALWAYS going to contradict what is "legal." So please use this knowledge wisely and refer to our disclaimer if you want to know more about that.

Step 1: Get what you need

As soon as you enter the store, you need to be quick, but slow down. You don't want to come across as a troublemaker right at this moment (so long as they are not already on to you there.)

So walk causally, with confidence to where you need to go. Grab a backpack first so that you can put everything in there. Remain calm and don't act nervous. Things to pack would be items like:

  • Poncho
  • 2 Changes of clothes
  • 1 Pair of Shoes
  • Scent Off

Now, you're going to be tempted to grab everything but the kitchen sink. DON'T. You want to keep your pack light, and you want to get out quickly. You're only goal right now is evasion. You can worry about survival later.

Get Someone's Car Keys

Eventually someone is going to pick up on you, and ask you what you're doing. At this point, you can pull out your weapon, confiscate their car keys and then activate the fire alarm on your way out of the door, further wrecking havoc.

So what did you just do? You grabbed everything you need to completely change your looks, your footprint, and your smell.

Now, by pulling the fire alarm, you've got loads of people exiting the building, causing more havoc and now the fire department is on their way.

Play it Cool

If you do this right, you've officially lost every member of the enemy team that is actively searching for you regardless of their knowledge or assets. Now the big key here is to keep it that way.

So, obviously, the person that you stole a car from is going to tell and they're going to be looking for the vehicle. So, park near the fire station (that is now empty because they're at Walmart) and steal a vehicle from there.

Only then do you make your way out of town.

What's Missing?

Eventually, they're going to figure out that you stole another vehicle from the fire station. So your evasion scenario hasn't ended yet. If you would like to learn the rest of the tactic and much more, check out my SERE eCourse. In it, I've focused on that same principal that makes Tackleberry Solutions different with every product that we have.

And that is a focus on modern wartime tactics that no one else is teaching. My SERE eCourse is no exception. Click here to learn more about it.
