The Red Flag Law
People are already starting to die because of this new law supposedly created to save lives. The theory is that you can predict future murderers and take their guns before they are able to commit the crime. This concept is very similar to the thinking used in the Minority Report. Leaving many to wonder how they can prevent gun confiscations of their own.
You Can't Predict the Future
As so famously put by Ted Bundy, you can't stereotype bad guys. Taking guns from people who have not yet committed a crime (just because someone else said they would) will not stop the mass shootings. We all know this, but the court system doesn't seem to. So how can we prevent our guns from being taken?
Preventing Gun Confiscations
You don't need to "lose your guns in a boating accident" or have them "stolen" in order to prevent your guns from being taken. Furthermore, you don't need to go to war with the sheriff's department either.
There is a way to keep your guns without fighting anyone. However, it requires time and preparation. You need to start now in order for this method to be effective.
Getting Involved
If you want to prevent gun confiscations against you, then make yourself known. Volunteer at your local Sheriff's Department. Make friends. Establish relationships. Be active in your community. Show the law that you are not a danger or a threat. What better character witness than a cop?
Police are People Too
If the cops know you and someone starts a claim that you are danger, do you really think they are going to believe it? Even if they were somehow able to get you on the Red Flag list, it is the local law that enforces those orders.
Don't Use Threats
In establishing your relationship with the local law, find ways to express your concerns about gun seizure. Talk to them about having a desire to protect yourself without making them feel like they are being threatened. Let them know you will defend yourself if needed but that you have no desire to hurt innocent people.
If you are ever unfortunate enough to end up on the Red Flag list, hopefully your friends in blue will simply give you a call instead of showing up at your door.
If you've made friends with them, they are more likely to notify and give you a chance to address it in court than they would be to act aggressively. You can avoid dangerous misunderstandings just by being active in your community and using your voice.
What if that doesn't work?
While this method is the first step in your perpetrations, you always want a plan B to back it up. This one takes it up a notch. However, if you do it right, no one will get hurt. Click here to read more about stopping the gun confiscations without shooting the cops.
